I’m Mark Shelton, a visual designer and educator from Indiana. I write drill for marching band, winter guard, indoor winds and indoor percussion. My time marching with The Cadets and Carolina Crown has shaped how I approach design—creating visuals that fit the music, make sense for performers, and give each group something they can be proud of.

I currently teach visual at Carmel and Fishers High School. Alongside designing and teaching, I help with business development at OpenMarch while studying Business Administration at Indiana University.

Great visual design should strengthen the music, clarify the story, and give performers the best chance to succeed. I build clear pathways, thoughtful staging, and memorable visual moments around each ensemble’s skill level, goals, and resources. Every project is collaborative, and I work closely with directors to communicate clearly, solve problems, and bring their vision to life.
